
Afghan government revealed that the delay in the declaration of August 20 Presidential Elections is costing the country a heavy price in terms of decline in national income and increase in crimes in the country.
The preliminary results of August 20 Presidential Elections were announced earlier but due to numerous claims of mass fraud, ballot stuffing and cheating the final results haven’t yet been declared officially.
The Presidential Spokesman through a press release informed that the members of National Security Council has recognized the “non-declaration of election results on proper (time) “ as the main reason for the decline in national income.
As per this press release Finance Ministry of this country informed the National Security Council meeting chaired by President Hamid Karzai on Sunday that in the last two months the income of the government has declined by no less than one billion Afghani (Currency) per month.
Defense Minister, Interior Minister, Chief of the National Security Council, Finance Minister and a number of prominent governmental officials are the members of Afghanistan’s highest Security Department.
The Council has also maintained that the Crime level and “Inclination to Violence” have increased due to the delay in the announcement of final results.
The security agencies report an alarming increase in Kidnapping and law and order situation in the country in the recent days but the Presidential office hasn’t made it clear as to what degree has the rise in crimes has been.
The members of the council have asked the agencies to act professionally and at greater pace to deter these cases of unbearable violence and crime in the country.
These concerns come in a time when the Afghan Businessmen have also voiced their concerns over the delay in the results causing them huge financial crisis.
